Birthday Party at my Parents

Grandma Rogers Birthday Party (Grandma Debbie, Me and Parker)

-Well it's official Parker is walking. He's been taking steps now for a couple weeks, but he just decided that it's much easier to walk...here we go!

-Since the weather has finally decided it's ready to be summer we've been out on the bikes a lot. The kiddos love the trailer and Jack will ever ride for a couple miles on his bike and then hop back into the trailer. I love being active with the kids.

-It felt like ever since the beginning of May we've been celebrating someones Birthday every week. We have a LOT of family birthday's during that time. Mine happens to be part of that. At the beginning of June I had yet another Birthday. It was a beautiful day with a date to the Temple with Rob and a good ol' Hires Big H to end the day. Of course we celebrate by birth weeks over here...so the party continued with lunches with my dear friends and two family parties- definitely was spoiled.

-We are enjoying summertime and all the yummy goodness that goes along with it!

Jackson turned four at the beginning of the month and we celebrated with a Pirate Party ARRRGGG! We had SO much fun! Jack had some friends over and they learned how to become a Pirate. We took the theme from one of our favorite children's book- "How I Became a Pirate". At the party we read the book, then we learned how to walk the plank, dig for gold in the sand, we had a sword fighting class, we learned how to throw cannonballs and of course Pirates must know how to fish. We ate one of Captain Jackson's favorite meals, pizza then topped off the party with cupcakes and a treasure hunt.

Jack is a joy to have around. He is full of energy and loves to learn. Jack has grown-up so much in the past year. We love you Jackson and Happy Birthday!

The Pirate Program

At the end of May Jackson had a little program with his preschool to show off all the things they had learned during the year. They sang all their colors and then they were transformed into pirates with "Jeremy Jacob", the main character in the book, "How I Became a Pirate". Jackson was quite an enthusiastic singer...he actually had to sing louder than the ENTIRE group- pretty funny. Ms. Mikel was Jackson's teacher and she was fantastic! Jackson had such a wonderful experience. All of the kids made a book of artwork they'd done throughout the year as well as a list of quotes from the kids. Mikel would ask a question to each child and write down verbatim how they answered. Some of Jack's quotes:

Q: What does your mom do while you are at preschool?

A: "After school I play Star Wars games. I don't know what she does while I'm here."

Q: When I grow up I will have a...

A: "an elephant"

Q: What is your favorite thing about preschool?

A: "I like to play with the sword"
